Last Friday I was near Farringdon for a Christmas dinner with former colleagues. The restaurant was located very near Smithfield market.
It has been quite some time since I have been around there and I couldn’t resist walking around this Grade II listed covered market.
The Victorian architecture of the place, designed by Sir Horace Jones, has a certain magic that is able to transport you to a London of a different time. This is enhanced by the air of a cold winter night, the illumination in the street and the prospect of a warm evening among friends.
