Here’s my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind (supported by Coauthor.studio and augmented by yours truly) 😊
🗓️ 2024 taught me that the most valuable breakthroughs happen when we cross domain boundaries – whether applying physics principles to machine learning, bringing theatrical storytelling to technical education, or using data science to revolutionise emergency services.
🤖 Technical Evolution:
- Advanced Ortus Group’s telematics platform with real-time CCTV integration and asset monitoring
- Worked on comprehensive updates to my book “Data Science and Analytics with Python” incorporating generative AI, explainability, and fairness to be published as a second edition. The second edition of the companion volume “Advanced Data Science and Analytics with Python” will be done in 2025
- Launched a second version of Easy CPR app – an iOS app that supports the provision of CPR
- Joined The Data Practice as Advisor focusing on sustainable data strategies
Supported a project for the University of Southampton for the commercialisation of a gravimeter based on quantum principles
💡 Learning & Impact:
- Completed CDO Summer School (Carruthers and Jackson)
- Earned Salesforce Certified AI Associate certification
- Wrote/produced “Victoria’s Embrace” at OSO Theatre – Some creative writing that was an unexpected but enjoyable experience for myself
- Rewarding experiences with mentees such as Nevil who recently became an RSS Statistical Ambassador
- Set new half marathon PB at Cambridge (2:18)
Three posts that resonated with my technical community:
- “Data Leaders Summer School Completion”
On navigating disruption in the data revolution while building strong communities
https://lnkd.in/dPN2St-B - “Data Science and Analytics with Python – Second Edition”
Rethinking core concepts for the generative AI era while maintaining statistical foundations

Looking ahead: 2025 will focus on expanding the work with emergency services telematics capabilities, developing new frameworks through The Data Practice, and continuing to find unexpected connections between technology and human needs. And yes, there might be another play in the works. 🎬
Whether writing Python or dialogue, running models or marathons, optimising algorithms or emergency response times – the goal remains making technology serve human creativity rather than replace it.
To everyone working to make complex systems meaningful: keep building bridges between technical depth and human understanding. That’s where the real magic happens. 🚀
